hardiplank siding used vertically on a garage

Can you use the hardiplank boards vertically or do you have to use the sheets of hardiplank.

James Hardie does not recommend that you install their lap siding product in a vertical manner. It would be recommended to use the Hardipanel as you mentioned. Please let us know if that answers your question. For more information, please visit www.jameshardie.com.

My brother, Brian Burnette, handles the siding division and he mentioned to me that James Hardie does make a Sierra 8\' exposure siding that can be installed vertically. This may help you achieve the look you are going for.
