On Thursday, May 15th, 2008 JRE won 4 awards for 'Excellence in Remodeling 2008' from the Home Builders Association of Richmond (HBAR). JRE won in the following categories:

• Commercial (11011 Midlothian shopping center)
• Façade Residential (Best on Block 07)
• Outdoor Living (Best on Block 08)
• Honorable Mention/Hardscapes (Willow Oaks Country Club)

 





JAMES RIVER EXTERIORS IS BIG WINNER AT FIRST ANNUAL HBAR EXCELLENCE IN REMODELING AWARDS

Richmond, Virginia, May 20, 2008  —  James River Exteriors, LLC (JRE) is pleased to announce that it was presented with the Home Building Association of Richmond’s (HBAR) Excellence in Remodeling 2008 Awards in the Commercial, Façade Residential, and Outdoor Living categories.  JRE also received an Honorable Mention award for the hardscapes project it completed at the first-hole tee box during Willow Oaks Country Club’s recent golf course renovation. 

JRE spokesperson Shane Burnette expressed his pleasure that HBAR took the time to recognize remodeling professionals in Central Virginia by sponsoring this contest.  “The remodeling industry is often overshadowed in the media and in the public’s mind by new home and commercial construction,” he noted, “when, in fact, this is a multi-billion dollar per year industry.  With so many potential applicants among HBAR’s membership, I feel honored that four of James River Exteriors’ projects were recognized at the awards breakfast.” 

The HBAR Excellence in Remodeling 2008 Awards were presented at an awards ceremony at the Sheraton Richmond West Hotel on Thursday, May 15, 2008, to recognize those Richmond-area companies whose residential and commercial remodeling projects were judged by their peers to best represent the true spirit of Excellence in Remodeling.  Judging was based on craftsmanship, appearance and complexity, as well as by how well each project addressed the client’s main objectives.  Judges were asked to consider such factors as innovation, problem solving and functionality when selecting the award recipients.

HBAR, the local chapter of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), followed the lead of other local-level NAHB groups around the country in sponsoring Richmond’s first NAHB-sanctioned Excellence in Remodeling Awards.  HBAR members were invited to submit their most outstanding remodeling projects completed in the previous twelve months to be judged by area building professionals, architects and designers, and newspaper and magazine editors. 

Finally, Burnette added that he felt humbled by the recognition heaped upon JRE and that it not only reflected positively on JRE’s staff, but on the company’s client base, as well.  “We have the great privilege of working with some of the best people in Richmond,” he said.  “This includes our customers, our staff and all of our suppliers and auxiliary support people.  To achieve the level of success that we have reached, it really takes a total team effort.”
